Come up - slow down Gstaad: Always a chance to unwind

Gstaad in the Bernese Oberland is about as diverse and unique as any ski destination anywhere.

Discover Gstaad's authentic Alpine charm

You'll be surprised by the blend of luxury and Alpine charm you'll find here.

Despite being popular with tourists and celebrity visitors alike, Gstaad still retains all the authenticity of a mountain village.

In addition to skiing and winter hiking, Gstaad has become a biking destination with exciting touring routes in both summer and winter.

Winter activities, wellness and culinary delights

It goes without saying that there's no shortage of life's other pleasures here too. Gstaad is renowned for the special way in which winter activities go hand in hand with wellness offerings and culinary delights

Visitors have numerous mountain inns with sunny terraces to choose from, some of which boast absolutely breathtaking views.

And if you're looking for restaurants serving first-class cuisine you'll not be disappointed either.

Above all, Gstaad is a place where you can always unwind and relax. That's why the destination slogan is: Come up, slow down.

Newer, faster Saanerslochbahn cableway

The new Saanerslochbahn cableway commenced operations in the winter of 2018. It replaced the old cableway, which has been running for 40 years, and is not only transporting passengers more comfortably to the ski area but is also a world first.

The glass panorama roof construction, known as a D-Line, is the first of its kind anywhere and it will now take even less time to reach the ski slopes.

There are numerous attractions in the ski area between Saanenmöser, Schönried, St. Stephan and Zweisimmen waiting for you to discover and you can explore the entire ski resort without using the same ski lift or the same slope twice.

Our tip: the Top4 Ski Pass

If you're an avid skier, the Top4 Ski Pass might come in handy.

This pass covers four regions (Adelboden-Lenk, Gstaad, Jungfrau and Meiringen-Hasliberg) and is sold at a discounted price until 16 December: CHF 666 instead of CHF 950. Find out more on this website.

If you only to book ski passes for Gstaad, then you should know that a new dynamic pricing system is in place for ski passes which takes into account the time of booking and the desired day. The earlier you book, the lower the price.

New tobogganing runs were opened in winter of 2018

Tobogganing is a great alternative to skiing and snowboarding. And Gstaad's six tobogganing runs are quite spectacular.

Since winter of 2018, three new tobogganing runs have been opened: SaanerslochHornberg and Horneggli Run in the Saanenmöser and Schönried ski areas.

A tobogganing tour is a particularly beautiful way of enjoying nature. With the snow being thrown up on both sides and the magnificent scenery all around, you will experience an amazing winter-wonderland sensation.

Those looking to go tobogganing can benefit from special tobogganing day passes for CHF 40 for adults and CHF 20 for children. These prices include the toboggan rental. See the complete list of prices here.
