1 bottle red wine
½ orange, cut into slices

6 cloves – Some recipes also call for allspice, star anise, nutmeg, cardamom, or fresh ginger. What is your favorite variation?
2 cinnamon sticks
Orange or lemon slices to decorate the mugs
Optional: If you want to kick it up a notch, add a splash (or two!) of kirsch, brandy, rum or triple sec.
WHAT TO DO
Add juice, fruit, sugar and spices to a large saucepan. Simmer until the sugar is dissolved.
