Ilva Eigus- Violin Javelyn Kryeziu- Piano Ilva Eigus (12) and Javelyn Kryeziu (15) were introduced to each other in early 2019 by the Russian pianist and ZHDK Professor Dmitri Demiashkin. He was convinced that the two talented young soloists could complement each other wonderfully when they played chamber music together. At their first meeting it became clear that the temperaments, ambitions and musical tastes of the two girls were very similar in a fruitful way. A week later they began rehearsals of a D minor Sonata by F. Schubert and a cycle by S. Prokofiev for violin and piano. Two months later they won first prize with distinction in the first round of the SJMW and reached the finals in Lugano, where they were awarded first prize in their age group. This success was made possible by the enthusiastic support of Ilva and Javelyn's teachers, Liana Tretiakova and Dmitri Demiashkin, and by the magical connection that the girls felt when they discovered the poetry of the Silver Age of Russian literature and Prokofiev's obsession with solar symbolism in his early musical experiments together. Program: Masterpieces by Saint-Saëns, Schumann, Chopin, Massenet, Tchaikovsky and Brahms More details at: www.klassifest.ch
