Münsterplatz

(15 Wows)

This is a large square with traditional buildings as well as the red sandstone Cathedral with a patterned roof, which was built in the 13th century and rebuilt following the earthquake of 1356. The tower of St. George, on the left of the main frontage, has some white stonework dating from the original church. There are many interesting stone carvings on the facades and portals. At the rear of the cathedral there is a good viewing point both up and down the river Rhine.
