Creativity is Key
Bright green Christmas trees, Santa or a snowy landscape are popular themes among the many artworks handed in every year for the SIS Christmas card contest.
This year's Christmas card (shown here on the left) shows the artwork of a student from SIS Friedrichshafen and features a snowman wearing Santa's hat and a dreamy blue background.
SIS is very happy and proud to send this year's season's greetings with such a beautiful Christmas card.
The next Christmas card contest is still in full swing and all 16 SIS schools from Switzerland, Germany and Brazil can participate.
Of all entries, each school location is asked to choose and send in its three best works for the competition.
All levels and classes are welcome to participate. The artwork's theme has to be reminiscent of Christmas and the holiday season.
Students typically use glue, glitter, scissors and bright colours to draw and decorate their Christmas cards, the sky is the limit in terms of students' imagination and creativity.
But who decides whose card deserves to win? A dedicated crew of SIS Christmas elves of course!
SIS Christmas Concerts and Bazaars
Next to the annual Christmas card contest, all SIS schools host Christmas concerts, bazaars, visits from Santa Claus or several other events during the festive season.
SIS Männedorf-Zürich for instance have a Christmas presentation with songs and poems followed by several activities such as storytelling and decorating cookies.
At SIS Winterthur on the other hand, the fourth grade will moreover have a stand with homemade food and handmade crafts in front of the schoolhouse.
The proceeds will be donated to a good cause.
After the Christmas break, students are then off to their SIS Snow Days and Ski Camp in the beautiful Swiss mountains.
