Christmas market in Montreux, Vaud

25 November - 24 December (CANCELED)

Montreux's Christmas market features each year 150 decorated and illuminated chalets along the quays of Geneva's lake.

The city of Basel becomes one of the most beautiful and dazzling cities in Europe during Christmas. Every year, there are more than 100 large fir trees decorated with twinkling lights. Wander the little market where you can taste traditional goodies. Find out more!


Christmas market in Einsiedeln, Schwyz

29 November - 8 December (CANCELED but check out the online market)

Einsiedeln is known as the charming "Monastery Town" of Switzerland. Just in front of the Benedictine monastery, this festive market is worth a visit, with beautifully decorated market stalls, and a big Christmas tree.

If you like nativity scenes, plan a visit to the world's largest Christmas crib at the Diorama Bethlehem. Perhaps you love gingerbread? Then you're in luck. Drop by the Gingerbread Bakery Museum, and try the goods at the Goldapfel bakery. Find out more!

With Christmas lights and music, the city welcomes local and foreign visitors to the old town of Locarno to start the advent season. Only the Christmas tree market will take place this year! All other markets are cancelled.
