Water, what else? Drink water and unsweetened tea to quench your thirst.

This guide to beverages will make you think twice the next time you are thirsty.

Water is by far the healthiest thing you can get in liquid form. It is not so important whether it is the flawless Swiss tap water or natural mineral water.

Also, unsweetened tea in all variations is healthy.

But try to do without any sugary drinks of any kind. If, for example, you are always drinking a few sips of cola or apple juice spritzer at work, you will stop burning fat, because your body is so happy to use the easily available energy of the sugar that comes from such drinks.

At the same time, your body protects what, from its point of view, are valuable fat deposits, which unfortunately only hurts your figure. We humans have been genetically programmed to protect our fat reserves since ancient times.

Alternatives to water

What about coffee? Drinking moderate amounts of unsweetened, black coffee will not lead to health issues if you have the tolerance for it. Coffee is a natural product that contains healthy qualities. Smoothies, best made only from fresh fruits or vegetables, can be an alternative.

Freshly squeezed fruit juice however, I recommend only as a treat and not as a real alternative, since the most valuable ingredients of the fruit is lost during squeezing.

Most of the finished product juices, often wrongly advertised as healthy, are made from fruit concentrate and are, in principle, nothing else than sugar water with fruit flavor. Some orange juices, for example, contain even more sugar than soda!

Alcoholic beverages are ultimately true calorie bombs and stop the fat-burning process. For these and other health related reasons, you should only moderately enjoy alcoholic drinks.
