Witness an Alpine Descent

Alpine descents, whether they're called Alpabzug, Désalpe or S-chargiada, are a huge thing in Switzerland, a testimony of the deeply rooted traditional background of Swiss people. The cows come back from Alpine pastures for the winter and this is cause for celebration. For those of you looking to get know the real Switzerland, this is as real as it gets.

This year, most Alpine Descents have been canceled, so we'll leave you with an excellent article from our archives on the Désalpe in Morgins, Valais and be back next year with our top picks (corona allowing).
